I am open to inquiries from prospective doctoral students who are researching South Asian/ Southeast Asian literature, visual narratives, and film, particularly with interests in the following areas:

• 19th , 20th, 21st-century Tamil literature.

• Tamil cultural and visual aesthetics.

• Tamil experiences of caste in South and Southeast Asia and the diaspora.

• Narrative representations of gender and sexuality in Tamil culture

• Sri Lankan literature, film and visual aesthetics

• Singaporean & Malaysian literature, film and visual aesthetics

• South Indian literature, film and visual aesthetics
